In partnership with Chris Meyers Yoga, certified teacher Peter Van Buren will be offering a new weekly Sheng Zhen Gong class at The Mill Centre in Hampden.
Starting September 15, Peter will lead the weekly sessions every Thursday from 6 to 7 PM.
Sheng Zhen means “unconditional love”, and whether seated or standing, this qigong involves graceful, gentle, easy-to-learn movements that reduce stress and elevate your spirit. This class provides the perfect introduction to this wonderful practice - an easy entry to gain the benefits of improved health, relaxation and inner peace.
Each 1-hour class will focus predominantly on the seated forms of Sheng Zhen qigong, including Three Hearts Meditation, Heart Mind as One, Nine Turns Meditation and Heaven Earth Gong.
Drop-in classes are $10 each, or you can buy a 6 class package for $50. We accept cash, cards and checks made payable to "Hopewell Cancer Support".
Chris Myers Yoga studio is at The Mill Centre, Room 343c, 3000 Chestnut Ave., Baltimore, and there is a large free parking lot off Mill Road just to the northwest (closer to The Avenue) side of the Mill Centre building. To get to Chris Meyers Yoga, walk down the hill from the lot and enter the first door you come to. Then, take the stairs on the left up one flight and walk straight as far as you can, turn right and walk straight through a door and keep going until the last door at the end of the long hall.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Qigong can be practiced in socks or bare foot. No equipment is needed; mats and cushions are provided. Just bring yourself and enjoy the practice of unconditional love.
Open your heart and tap into your body’s naturally ability to heal.
